Nonprofit Westchester Strong: (914) Cares

NPW is grateful for the work of (914) Cares at all times and during the pandemic. Their mission is to support neighbors in Westchester County who struggle to meet basic human needs: Food, Clothing, Shelter, Education and Medical Care. During normal times the agency helps in two ways: (1) they work with small local nonprofits helping them with volunteer and collection drive efforts and (2) they have their own programs: Kids’ Kloset, which provides clothing, school supplies, books and other necessities to children in need, Baby Bank Westchesterwhich provides basic necessities and essentials (diapers, clothing, strollers, car seats, hygiene products, etc) for families in need, Poverty SymposiumDonation Drives and Empty Bowls Westchester

With the rise of unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, (914) Cares saw many families in dire need of baby essentials. In order to help in the most effective way possible, (914) Cares made the decision to convert their Baby Bank program into a Diaper Bank. Since March, over 140,000 diapers and over 4,000 packages of wipes, helping over 4,000 babies have been distributed in Westchester County.

    (914) Inc. is currently working with over 40 Community Partners, delivering diapers and wipes every two weeks for distribution and will continue to do so throughout this crisis. If you are an organization that would like to distribute diapers to the community, please email Stephanie Roth.
