NPW EVENT RECAPS

Thank you to the 250+ attendees and amazing panelists at last week’s Westchester Nonprofit OpCon! For the second year, NPW partnered with City and State and NYN Media to bring a full-day event with information-packed panels, sharing ideas and providing resources for nonprofit executive leadership, operations, IT, finance, HR, and more.

Panelists discussed topics related to streamlining operation processes, creating an optimal board of directors, 403b pooled employer plans, developing strong communications and marketing, risk management, nonprofit accounting, and the future of technology.

A special shout out to our keynote speaker, Westchester County George Latimer, and the Emcee for the day, our very own Executive Director Jan Fisher.

Thank you to all the sponsors and exhibitors for sharing helpful resources and tools for the nonprofit sector.

The Emerging Leaders Class of 2023 visited the Children's Village last Thursday. It was a beautiful autumn afternoon on their incredible campus.

ELPers had the unique opportunity to hear from several key staff members:

  • Dr. Jeremy Kohomban, President and CEO
  • Vincent Madera, Division Director, CVTI and Permanency
  • Jamila Baucom, Vice President for Advancement
  • Richard Georg, CFO
  • Warren Kent, Senior VP for Community-Based Services
  • Charmane Wong, Vice President for Human Resources

We can't thank these CV leaders enough for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm. It was clear to all why the Children's Village has emerged as a national model for community-embedded family support.

After the inspirational and fun session on campus, ELPers and CV staff had a fantastic time at Lombardo's Restaurant "down the hill". The group really enjoyed meeting and connecting with each other.
