Our Emerging Leaders class of 2023 spent a beautiful afternoon on Groundwork Hudson Valley's incredible Science Barge on September 21st. The group learned how Groundwork creates sustainable environmental change in urban neighborhoods through community-based partnerships that promote equity, youth leadership, and economic opportunity.

Development and Communications Associate and current ELPer, Jerome Cunningham, provided a great overview of Groundwork's main areas of focus - sustainability education, youth leadership, and climate resilience. Enormous thanks to Interim Executive Director Ellen Theg and Director of Development Karen Tumelty for hosting us.

Joel Rodriguez, Sustainability Education Program Manager, gave an amazing tour of all that is growing on the barge, and the group enjoyed a delicious wine and cheese spread.

The Field Hall Foundation is now accepting Letters of Inquiry for their Winter 2023-24 grant cycle. The deadline to submit is October 3rd and grants will be awarded at the end of January 2024.
