On June 21, the Small Nonprofits Affinity Group met with Joan Grangenois-Thomas, Principal of JGT Public Relations. The "Mission to Message" discussion Joan facilitated helped participants succinctly and effectively craft their organization's unique message.

This Affinity Group helps participants address the challenges and opportunities facing small nonprofit organizations. The Small Nonprofit Affinity Group is chaired by ­­­­Tania Weiss, Executive Director of the Cancer Support Team.

Hudson Valley Regional Launch of the 2023 NYS ALICE Report - July 11

Inflation has reduced every households’ buying power, but more than a third of Hudson Valley households were already one emergency away from financial ruin. The latest state ALICE® Report released by United Way of New York State looks at how the pandemic and its recovery combined with other economic factors impacted Hudson Valley households.

FUNDING

The City of Mount Vernon has allocated funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to support non-profit organizations providing services to Mount Vernon residents. This is a grant program - not a loan. The application is available here

The minimum grant awards are $10,000.00 and the maximum amount are $25,000.00 per non-profit organization. Submission Deadline: Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered by 4:00 PM on July 17, 2023.

Mutual of America Foundation Community Partnership Award Competition

The Community Partnership Award honors the outstanding contributions that nonprofit organizations, in partnership with public, private and other social sector organizations, make to our communities. The competition is now open; applications are being accepted through July 1, 2023.
