NPW EVENT RECAP

Thank you to the outstanding facilitators and participants for another impactful Peer to Peer Affinity Group meeting, Westchester’s first-ever affinity group for nonprofit personnel of color, last Tuesday morning. The facilitators, Dr. Alexandria Connally, Lucria Ortiz, and Michelle A. Nicholas, led an engaging discussion about racial identity and perceived racial identity, and how imposture syndrome relates to one’s identity.

The Peer to Peer Affinity Group was created in response to NPW’s racial equity report, which highlighted “supporting people of color to lead” as one of four key issue areas essential to building antiracist systems. Read the report here.

Thank you to the group sponsors, PCSB Bank, Westchester Library System, and United Way of Westchester and Putnam. A special thanks to Sam's of Gedney Way for the delicious breakfast and service!

The next Peer to Peer event will be on January 27, 2023. Stay tuned for more details.

On Nov. 16, nonprofit professionals from small nonprofit organizations attended  NPW's Small Nonprofits Affinity Group to hear from NPW board member and Executive Director of Yonkers Partners in Education, Sam Wallis, on the topic of Making Program Evaluation Work For Your Nonprofit.

Participants commented that the presentation was "engaging, inspiring and so on target". We can't thank Sam enough for sharing his wisdom and passion with his NPW colleagues.
