The Emerging Leaders Program fosters talent among the next generation of nonprofit leaders.

NPW's Emerging Leaders Program is an 11-month professional development program that supports “emerging leaders” to grow their nonprofit knowledge, leadership skills, and expand their reach through networking and collaborative learning.

Graduates will:

  • Understand the social and systemic issues addressed by Westchester’s nonprofit sector
  • Be familiar with the mission and impact of other organizations within the county
  • Develop relationships with up to 30 peers and new contacts in the nonprofit sector
  • Be part of a growing network of talented and influential ELP alumni
  • Be prepared for future leadership roles

Who Should Apply?

Emerging leaders who

  • Have 3-10 years of nonprofit experience
  • Currently work within an NPW-member organization
  • Are committed to personal and professional growth
  • Want to learn about the nonprofit sector and individual organizations

Program Format

Emerging Leaders are hosted by a different nonprofit once a month from 3-5:30p.m. Participants learn about the issues addressed by that organization, participate in an interactive training, and network.

Program Fee: Organizations of accepted applicants must pay $600 for each applicant. No more than 2 candidates per organization will be accepted (please do not submit more than 2 applications per organization). The program is only open to NPW-member organizations.

This is an opportunity to support the advancement of someone in your organization who has potential for future leadership roles.

We suggest preparing your responses in a separate document to streamline the process. Note: you will also be required to upload your current resume and letter of recommendation from your Executive Director. 2025 Program Dates: Feb. 6, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, July 10*, Aug. 7, Sept. 4, Oct. 9*, Nov. 6, Dec. TBD ( ELP Graduation at NPW's Keep Westchester Thriving Awards). The complete schedule with host locations and times will be available by mid January 2024. *Second Thursday of the month due to holiday.
