Enhancing the Executive Director/Board Partnership While Delivering Mission
The dynamics of the board-executive partnership have a strong effect on the health and sustainability of an organization. Board members and executives have different roles, and the balance of power helps them to get the work of the organization done. The relationship between the board and the executives requires recognizing and appreciating each other’s position within the organization. When both teams are working together like this it maximizes the impact of the nonprofit. - Jan Fisher, Executive Director, Nonprofit Westchester (Moderator)
- Jeanette Gisbert, Executive Director, Volunteer New York!
- Maurice Segall, Director, Pro Bono Partnership
- Michelle A. Nicholas, Founder & CEO of The NICO Consulting Inc.
- Wayne Davis, Partner, Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP

YWCA: Tell Congress Women Deserve Equal for Equal Work!
|
|
Fair wages are essential to women’s economic security. When women are paid less, they have less money for basic family necessities like rent, groceries, health care, transportation, and child care. Closing the wage gap is integral to improving the health and well-being of women and families. The Paycheck Fairness Act (S.728 / H.R.17) would strengthen the Equal Pay Act of 1963 by providing robust protections against gender-based pay discrimination, particularly for women facing additional systemic barriers to achieving economic security.
