Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle's New State-of-the-Art Remington Clubhouse - The First Youth Development Facility to be Built in New Rochelle in over 40 years
|
|
Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle's new state-of-the-art Remington Clubhouse will be a cornerstone of the “Renaissance at Lincoln Park,” a new 179-unit community in New Rochelle. With 22,000 square feet, the building is nearly twice the size of the former Remington, allowing us to serve over 700 members, compared to 320 at the old building. Learn More >>

Manhattanville University Awarded Nearly $1 Million Grant to Enhance Teacher Preparation Programs

Manhattanville University has been selected to receive a grant of $997,439 from the New York State Office of Strategic Workforce Development (OSWD) and the State University of New York (SUNY). The grant will fund the proposal, “Teaching Assistant to Teacher of Record: Investing in Our Local Workforce,” as part of the Education Workforce Investment Alternative Teacher Certification Program, over a four-year period beginning in July of this year. United Way of Westchester and Putnam Community Impact Fund
|
|
The United Way of Westchester and Putnam Community Impact Fund supports local nonprofits serving the needs of the underprivileged, marginalized, or ALICE (those who are employed but are living paycheck-to-paycheck) populations in Westchester or Putnam Counties.
United Way is offering grants between $5,000 and $10,000. The funding can be used in two ways: 1) to support programs in the areas of education, financial stability, or health that benefit underprivileged, marginalized, or ALICE populations in Westchester or Putnam counties, or 2) to support operational expenses of local nonprofits in Westchester or Putnam County whose mission relates to improving the education, financial stability, or health of underprivileged, marginalized or ALICE populations. The submission deadline, which includes the application and the required attachments, is 5 PM on May 20, 2024.

Con Edison: Open Call for Proposals on Climate Justice for Community Resilience

Con Edison is issuing a request for proposals (RFP) to provide an initial grant of up to $3 million over the next three years to help local organizations combat the effects of extreme heat and other climate-related extreme weather events on disadvantaged and historically marginalized communities across the five boroughs and in Westchester County.
