NPW's Affinity Groups provide nonprofit professionals with meaningful connections to people from other nonprofits who perform similar jobs. They provide an informal setting to network and find solutions to common challenges.

Affinity groups are an exclusive NPW member benefit and are only open to staff, board and volunteers from NPW member organizations.

More and more, non-profit organizations are recognizing that their greatest assets are the stories of their members, clients, patients, staff and volunteers.  Personal stories can show your organization’s impact in a way that numbers alone can’t.  Stories can strengthen the bonds between individuals and between the individual and your organization.

Learn how you can tap into the stories in your organization at this workshop presented by the Rye YMCA.  The Rye Y has successfully collected more than 300 member, staff and volunteer stories over the past seven years through a variety of methods, including “Voices from the Community: The Rye Y Story Project.”

Lisa Tidball has a background in theater, magazine publishing and web design.  She has worked in communications at the Rye Y for thirteen years and is currently the Y’s Director of Communications.

Denise Woodin has been the Rye Y’s Director of Community Impact and Social Responsibility for the past seven years. Her background includes fundraising, communications and community outreach for non-profits, government and a public participation consultancy.  She has also worked as a freelance reporter.

Many organizations strive to create diversity and inclusion in the workplace, but do not know how to even start the process. Join us for this unique workshop exploring LSHV's journey in diversity and inclusion to find out what they have learned, what practices worked and which didn't, and key next steps to get your organization on the right path. Organizations that embrace diversity and inclusion are statistically more successful and productive overall.
