Nonprofit Westchester Strong: The Center For Aging In Place

Recognizing the need to improve seniors' health and safety and quality of life during the pandemic and to better meet needs of certain special groups across our county, The Center for Aging in Place has created an extensive Westchester Pandemic Older Adult Community Resource Guide. To increase public access, the Guide is available in large print, English and Spanish. Be sure to take a look (below) and learn more about social service, nutrition, transportation, quality of life, cultural, recreational, case management, financial and legal resources for seniors during the pandemic. Please help circulate it to those you think would benefit.

“The development of the resource guide was a proactive response to the news that older adults were going to be disproportionately affected by both the novel coronavirus itself, and by the systems that public health officials and others would have to put in place in order to protect them. By publishing the resource guide, seniors - and senior-serving organizations - will readily know what is available at this difficult time, to assist them with improving quality of life as well as to assist with access to key programs and for coordination of care in the county”, said Lynn Reichgott, Chair of the Board of Directors, The Center for Aging in Place.

This effort is another shining example of the unique value and strength of the nonprofit sector, our network, strong partnerships and tenacious leaders that ensure a stable and healthy Westchester – for all. The resource guide was developed as part of a coalition effort with many nonprofit agencies and volunteers, and especially with DOROT of Westchester, Volunteer New York!, RSVP of Westchester and Nonprofit Westchester.
