Jan Fisher Named Executive Director
at Nonprofit Westchester
 

White Plains, NY, Sept. 30, 2019 – Nonprofit Westchester’s Board of Directors announced the appointment of Jan Fisher as executive director, effective immediately. She had served as interim director since July 2019.

"In her role as interim director, Jan helped Nonprofit Westchester refocus on its strategic goals and priorities,” says Terry Kirchner, president of the board. “Now, I am excited to work with her as executive director as she brings new life to achieving our goals and strengthening the impact, capacity and visibility of the nonprofit sector in Westchester County."

Jan previously served as director of public affairs at Westchester Jewish Community Services, one of the county’s largest nonprofit organizations. In that capacity, she raised millions of dollars to support the agency’s mental health and other human services, and collaborated with government, nonprofit and for-profit businesses and people of all ages and backgrounds to strengthen Westchester as a thriving community for all people. 

“I am delighted to accept this position and support NPW’s important work,” Jan states. “Nonprofit businesses are intrinsic to the vitality and continued growth of Westchester County. The sector provides critical expertise and services to address issues impacting all residents, whether it’s caring for young children, preparing our future workforce or ensuring the welfare of older adults. I look forward to supporting them and their staffs in furthering their missions.”

Jan recently ran her own consultancy, Jan Fisher LLC, Nonprofit Advisors, where she deepened her understanding of the nonprofit landscape, as well as her admiration for the agencies and professionals that advance opportunity and equity throughout the county. She is chair of the Westchester County Youth Board, member of the board of directors of the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, member of the Westchester County Suicide Prevention Task Force, and member of Executive Resource Professionals (ERP).
