Mission Statement
The Pelham Children’s Center offers high-quality and developmentally appropriate childcare, education and enrichment programs to a culturally and economically diverse group of children. Our programs foster children’s intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. The Center strives to make its programs affordable to families of varying financial means and, to this end, may provide tuition assistance to those in need pending Board approval.
Our goal is to provide an environment conducive to the development of the whole child. Our objectives include: caring for physical health and safety by offering nutritious meals and presenting ample opportunity for indoor and outdoor gross motor activities; supporting emotional development by helping parents and children work through the separation process and providing opportunities for children to enhance their self-concept; promoting cognitive development through a curriculum that provides an opportunity for hands-on exploration in many areas, such as art, music, science, language arts, sand-and-water play, and block-building; facilitating social interaction and guiding children toward self-discipline.
