Mission Statement
A Better Tomorrow: Innovating Pro Bono Solutions to the Youth Mental Health Crisis

The Weissman Children’s Foundation (WCF) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2020 by renowned pediatric psychologist and healthcare innovator, Dr. Adam S. Weissman, dedicated to advancing mental health access, equity, and awareness through research and innovation, community action and crisis relief, and compassionate-data driven care. Our key partners include Harvard and Columbia Universities, CUNY-Hunter College, a Silicon Valley tech/EHR company, and the Westchester County Government, local community/faith leaders, and the county’s 62 after-school programs in underserved communities. Widely recognized for its COVID Mental Health Relief Initiative which helped over 1,000 underserved families during the pandemic, WCF is the recent recipient of Westchester County’s Healthcare Hero, 40 Under 40, and Public Health Awards, as well as the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Contributions to Practice Award, the field’s highest honor.

Help Us Help Others
WCF recruits, trains, and supports a network of highly vetted, licensed therapists who each provide free, weekly, one-to-one therapy to a single child, teen, adult, or family. WCF is actively seeking more therapists to join our mission and board members with non-profit development experience who are passionate about solving the youth mental health crisis, toward realizing our vision of high-quality mental healthcare for all in need.
