Although the governmental agencies (DOL/IRS) responsible for the regulatory compliance of employee benefit plans (retirement plans including 403(b) plans, welfare plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation) are in transition and the new administration has not yet passed any legislation which specifically identifies the changes that may be forthcoming, there are several matters affecting the operation of employee benefit plans.
This morning session will focus on the latest guidance and regulations that govern these types of plans. Examples of certain matters to be reviewed include; the reporting changes on the 2016 Form 5500, changes to the regulations for non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and items the IRS will be reviewing on their examination of plans.
