More and more, nonprofit organizations are recognizing that their greatest assets are the stories of their members, clients, patients, staff and volunteers. Personal stories can show your organization’s impact in a way that numbers alone can’t. Stories can strengthen the bonds between individuals and between the individual and your organization.
Learn how you can tap into the stories in your organization at this workshop presented by the Rye YMCA. The Rye Y has successfully collected more than 300 member, staff and volunteer stories over the past seven years through a variety of methods, including “Voices from the Community: The Rye Y Story Project.”
Lisa Tidball has a background in theater, magazine publishing and web design. She has worked in communications at the Rye Y for thirteen years and is currently the Y’s Director of Communications.
Denise Woodin has been the Rye Y’s Director of Community Impact and Social Responsibility for the past seven years. Her background includes fundraising, communications and community outreach for non-profits, government and a public participation consultancy. She has also worked as a freelance reporter.
