About Congressman-Elect Mondaire Jones -
He won the seat held by the retiring Congresswoman Nita Lowey. The Congressman-Elect is a product of East Ramapo public schools, raised in Section 8 housing and on food stamps in the Village of Spring Valley by a single working mother. He graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Law School. He worked at the Department of Justice during the Obama Administration and more recently in the Westchester County Law Department. When he takes his seat in Congress, he will be the first openly gay, Black member to do so.
