Muslims Who Rescued Jews During World War II: The Case in Albania

Please join the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center and Iona College to hear Dr. Mithat Gathi discuss Muslims Who Rescued Jews During World War II in Albania on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Muslim, Orthodox, and Catholic Albanians lived out the traditional Albanian code of hospitality (Besa) as they risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust, giving a true example of interreligious rescue efforts.

Dr. Gathi is a board member of Vatra-The Pan Albanian Federation of America. His father was a survivor of a communist internment camp. His family escaped from communist Albania in 1986.
