MAJOR GIFTS SERIES - UNDERSTAND MULTI-CULTURAL PHILANTHROPY
SPONSORED BY AFP WESTCHESTER - For decades, America has been a melting pot of the racial and ethnic diversity of its population. Cultures are overlapping and interactive. Nonetheless, individuals belong to separate societal cultures. Pressing social needs require nonprofits to seek every possible donor to augment their missions. Giving by people of color has been inadequately researched. Drawing from extensive academic research and professional experience working with multi-cultural high net-worth individuals, this session is designed to help fundraisers understand the culture of giving by people of color.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Understanding the culture of giving by people of color and the implications of culture on today’s fundraising environment.
OUR SPEAKER: Lijun He has had an extensive career spanning the disciplines of finance planning, academia, and philanthropy consulting. Currently working as a wealth advisor, Lijun worked as an assistant professor at Pace University in New York. She has published books and journal articles on philanthropy and impact investing.
