Free Virtual Event to Observe Human Rights Day

YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester observes and promotes Human Rights Day by presenting a panel aligned with this year's UN theme "EQUALITY - Reducing Inequalities, Advancing Human Rights."

Through our panel, our speakers will share their unique perspectives, experiences, and expertise on global humanitarian and refugee crises today. By looking at the current situations in Afghanistan and Haiti, panelists will consider what the future for racial equity and democracy could look like in those nations and our own.

Confirmed speakers:
Asha Castleberry-Hernandez - Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary in the U.S. State Department Bureau of Near East Affairs
Nicolaine (Nicole) Lazarre - Vice President, External Affairs at Charter Communications and associate adjunct professor at the Columbia University School of Non-Profit Management
Minh-Thu Pham - policy entrepreneur and former Executive Director of Global Policy at the United Nations Foundation

This panel is moderated by Maria Dautruche, director of the Westchester Center for Racial Equity at the YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester
