On February 22, 2022, Governor Kathy Hochul announced the establishment of the Office of the Chief Disability Officer to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities and appointed Kimberly T. Hill as the State's first Chief Disability Officer.

Ms. Hill has stressed that she is “looking forward to leading a well-resourced Office of the Chief Disability Officer to bring the voices and priorities of all people with disabilities to the forefront and working towards a more integrated, inclusive and accessible New York.”

NPW Disabilities Roundtable

The NPW Disabilities Roundtable was established in response to concerns expressed by member organizations related to common needs and opportunities as we began to emerge from COVID-19. The Disabilities Roundtable develops short-term and long-term strategies to advance and/or strengthen shared advocacy issues, and collaborates to support programming and initiatives that support access and opportunity for people with disabilities, across the spectrum of physical, intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities.
