New York State Paid Sick Leave Law
The NY State bill to guarantee Paid Leave for New Yorkers under mandatory or precautionary quarantine due to COVID-19 was signed into law. This bill protects all employees--salaried, part-time, and hourly--by ensuring some financial security if they are unable to work due to isolation or quarantine as declared by a government official. There are a number of issues that have been raised regarding this bill. We are working with our partners in NY State government and with umbrella agencies, including the Human Serviced Council, to get clarification. Please let us know if you have any questions:
