Mission Statement
Founded by leaders in international education and experts in U.S.-Asia relations on the 70 anniversary of the end of World War II, EngageAsia's aim is to utilize education to facilitate understanding between and among American and Asian teachers and students. EngageAsia accomplishes this by leading innovative teacher professional development programs, fostering opportunities for building community that connects individuals in Asia and America with the wider world, and facilitating student connections. Asia is one of the most dynamic and important regions of the world, contains the World’s second and third largest economies, the most populous nations, and is full of societies with different cultural approaches to life, making regional understanding and cooperation imperative to peace.
