Advocacy Alert - Congressional Outreach; Middle and Large Size Nonprofits Need Our Support; Fiscal Planning

Dear NPW Community:

Nationally, the nonprofit sector has shown great determination amid the coronavirus crisis and our advocacy for inclusion in Federal stimulus programs has been successful on many fronts. As the next round of Federal stimulus funding is being negotiated, nonprofit agencies - of all sizes - need to join together to make certain that the issues facing our organizations and the people we serve are met. We have more work to do to best ensure the stability of our agencies and delivery of services to the most vulnerable among us.

Please continue to advocate and use the information provided to engage board members, volunteers, staff, clients (as appropriate) and communities in advocacy with your elected officials. There truly is strength in numbers.

With appreciation for all you are doing,
Jan Fisher

NPW Webinar: Advocacy and Action by Westchester's Nonprofit Organizations Amid Coronavirus

Friday's NPW Webinar detailed important national, state and countywide issues that need our attention.  A special thank you Congresswoman Nita Lowey for joining us and for reinforcing the vital importance of consistent and strong advocacy by the nonprofit sector.

Letter to New York’s Congressional Delegation on Behalf of New York’s Nonprofits

If you have not done so already, please review and consider signing on to Nonprofit New York's Letter to New York’s Congressional Delegation on Behalf of New York’s Nonprofits.

Today, we are calling attention to the fact that Middle and Large Size Nonprofit Businesses  - those with 500 or more employees - have been left out of important Federal funding opportunities including the "Main Street" lending program and the Paycheck Protection Program. These nonprofits, that provide vital services and operate on thin margins, have no access to Federal zero-interest and forgivable loan programs.
