Nonprofit Westchester Strong: The Acceleration Project (TAP)

Since COVID hit, The Acceleration Project (TAP) has been busier than ever helping some of Westchester’s most vulnerable and most beloved small businesses navigate through this crisis. TAP has been in the trenches with small business owners providing free emergency services including guidance on cash flow issues, SBA loan applications, PPP tracking and forgiveness and adaptation strategies. These businesses include hair salons, florists and retail shops, tennis clubs, carpet cleaners as well as dental practices, event ticket sellers, nonprofit organizations and many more. Their stories are heart-breaking. Their financial situations are dire. Yet, TAP is helping these businesses stay alive.

While continuing to offer guidance on how to use TAP's PPP Forgiveness Tracker, TAP is now providing a critical new service to support the small business owners as they re-emerge in this next normal. TAP's Boot Camp is a six-session program which takes place over two months. Two consultants, paired based on their complementary skillsets, meet weekly with a small business owner to address the businesses immediate challenges and help position the business for growth.

This is all possible thanks to the generosity of donors and the team of over a 110 highly qualified consultants who donate their time and use their talents to make a meaningful difference in the community.

News12 Westchester featured TAP's efforts to support small businesses during the COVID crisis. Hear TAP client and owner of Taaru Majeure speak about TAP's impact in the video below.
